RICHARDSON, Texas, Jan. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Texas State Optical announces the opening of its newest location in Richardson, TX. The office is owned by Valenta Carter, OD, a 2010 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry.

The new office design is open, contemporary, has no front desk and utilizes iPads instead of desktop computers for working with patients. The design was developed in conjunction with Eye Designs in Pennsylvania.
All of the preliminary exam and exam equipment are digital and from Zeiss Vision and Zeiss Medi-Tech with everything communicating with each other and interfacing with Eyefinity’s cloud based EHR and PMS office system.
Earlier this year, Texas State Optical and Zeiss Vision formed a partnership which includes prescription lens production, stock lenses, equipment and education, training platforms. The integration with the new Richardson office launches the first full Zeiss, patient experience.
"This new approach to helping young, professional optometrists own and operate their own practice provides a friction free process for opening and assures the doctor that they are in a great location, an office designed to maximize both patient experience and profits. We take all of the hassle out of starting your own practice and do so using expertise otherwise unavailable to a young optometrist," stated, John D Marvin, President and CEO of TSO, Inc.
"When Mr. Marvin told me about the opportunity to work with them on this new office, I was thrilled and saw how it would help me achieve something that was otherwise very intimidating. I mean, TSO knows the best locations, how to design an office that appeals to patients and really works for the doctor too," said Dr. Valenta Carter, the new owner.
Mr. Marvin said that TSO, Inc. has plans to open many more in the Dallas, Fort Worth area using this model and also has expansion plans for San Antonio.
Texas State Optical, founded in 1936, operates today as a member-owned cooperative consisting of more than 120 locations across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. While independent, the Doctors of TSO collectively uphold the TSO brand and commitment to caring for the eyes of Texas.
